hedgehog-friendly ice cream containers - Yahoo! News:
US fast food giant McDonald's announced it had gone hedgehog-friendly, following a long running campaign waged by British lovers of the prickly mammals. McDonald's said it had redesigned cups and lids for its McFlurry ice cream so that they were no longer a danger to the animals.
Relieved British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) chief executive Fay Vass said life would now be a lot easier for foraging hedgehogs with a taste for ice cream.McDonald's 'always said they were listening but nothing seemed to happen', she said.'Then we got press coverage and public support followed and they tried a different design.'
'We were getting quite a few calls, enough to concern us, so now it's one less danger for hedgehogs to worry about.' yay good.

I love this picture: the way they are looking right at me, so directly and intelligently; the way they are sitting right up next to each other like best buds.
Every time I look at Jack's face, especially, I am delighted.
This is my most favorite photo of cats that I haven't met.
The 'what shall we do now we're up here?' and 'brother & sisterly love' pics are close seconds. and Guardians of the Shed is lovely, as is the one of Jack leaning down from above and as 'cat on a warmish shed roof.' But this one, most of all, I keep coming back to look at.
How are your mogs doing these days? Will you be posting any more photos?



so this photo is December 2002 and brother-sister-love where they are little bittles is September so they are still really rather young here. On the cusp of non-kitten-hood? this is the one photo I think that is both in Kittens (Set) and Cats (Set). and then this one is put for comparison with photo of "2005-12-07 20-49-17" that makes me feel sad, bcs all grown up? but it's only 3 years later, they are still young kit cats! still the 'they grow up so quickly' oh we all do.

He looks like a little Golem when he is all stretched out. He seemed to enjoy climbing around exploring the world with his newly openned eyes. He was eventually set free when he became big enough to fend for himself.

Little Eastern Grey Squirrel. He was found by a friend who was taking care of him. His eyes had just openned the day before, he was so young we had to feed him formula from a tiny dropper. I like to think of squirrels as the little monkeys of North America.

there was a dog, speckled maybe, in a room with browns, maybe a bowl or some other object - a bag of dog food? an unpretty picture that I liked very well. gone? saved or marked on stolen computer?

willy's gloves

On Thursday morning, nine pairs of gardening gloves and five singles were strung up, nicely framed by the Pifers' flourishing tomato and basil plants. Willy, looking innocent, was playing with a beetle under the Subaru in the driveway and occasionally dashing after Hudson.

Willy, born to a stray last spring and taken in by the Pifers as a newborn, stays out some nights but seems to assemble his collection in daytime raids.
Willy couldn't care less about the gloves after they're captured. On Thursday he could not be enticed into a grab-the-glove game.
Despite his criminal nature, neighbors get a kick out of Willy. Cassone said the cat likes to accompany the mailman up and down the block, all the way to each front door. Willy also likes to climb trees and bat at the heads of people below.
